Want to tidy up your lady garden but are confused by all the terminology? Having a bikini wax is a straight forward procedure that depending on the bikini wax you choose shouldn’t take more than 45 minutes for your first appointment.
We can’t lie, it will hurt a bit, and especially the first time, but taking a painkiller around half an hour to an hour before your appointment will help to lessen the pain. Plus, with each waxing session the hair grows back finer so is subsequently less painful. Regrowth tends to happen in around 4 to 6 weeks depending on how fine your hair is.
Onto the big question—what type of bikini wax to have? Well, here at Love You salon we offer five different types of bikini waxes, from a tidy up to remove any unsightly strays from your underwear or swimwear, to completely bare (down there). How much hair you want removing is entirely up to you and what you think looks best.
Regular Bikini Wax
One of the more popular choices and certainly the least painful of the procedures, a regular Bikini Wax removes all unwanted hair from the outer regions of the pubic area and the top inner part of the thighs, to ensure that no pubic hair is visible when wearing underwear or a swimsuit or bikini.
You can keep your underwear on for this procedure and it usually takes around 15 minutes to complete.
Extended Bikini Wax
This is popular for many ladies just before they go on holiday or for those who regularly swim, mainly to ensure no embarrassing strays emerge when getting out of the swimming pool. Again you can keep your underwear on when having this procedure as the therapist will just pull your knickers out of the way.
The main difference between the Extended and the Regular Bikini Wax is that the waxing will go a couple of inches further inwards creating a more defined triangle and possible do the top of your public hair if you want to wear very low cut bikini bottoms.
The Extended Bikini Wax usually takes 20 minutes.
Brazilian Bikini Wax
Going much further into the bikini area, the Brazilian will leave either a shape, or more commonly a thin strip of hair whilst removing all the rest of the pubic hair—often referred to as a landing strip. You can experiment with how thin you want your Brazilian strip to be, and we recommend that you work your way inwards gently over time rather than rush in.
A Brazilian Bikini Wax typically takes around 30 minutes.
Playboy Bikini Wax
How bare do you dare? The Playboy wax takes thing much further inwards than the Brazilian and will leave a very thin line of hair. Not for the faint hearted and again you may want to build up to this over time.
A Playboy Bikini Wax takes about half an hour.
Hollywood Bikini Wax
Completely bare, front and back! The Hollywood Bikini Wax removes all traces of pubic hair leaving you free to wear G-strings, thongs, or no knickers at all if that’s your choice!
A Hollywood Bikini Wax takes around 45 minutes to complete.
