Get Your Skin Ready for Spring!

It’s April and the promise of warmer weather is just around the corner, time to re-arrange our wardrobes and get out our spring and summer clothes and shoes.

It’s also time to pay attention to our body and get it ready for springtime, so we’re looking our best for those skimpier garments.

Here are some of the things you should be looking at doing this month to ensure you’re as smooth and buff and wonderful as possible:

Detox

Spend a week or so being kind to your insides.  Cutting out all the junk food, alcohol, sugar, gluten and diary for a while will give your gut and liver chance to recover and leave your feeling much healthier and full of energy.  You may even lose a few pounds in weight as well as an added bonus.

Eat plenty of whole-grains (not wheat) and lots of organic, fresh fruit and vegetables and you will definitely see and feel a big difference.

Drink Water

Aim to drink at least 1.5 litres of water each day.  Start the day off with a glass of hot water with lemon to give your insides a morning clean and then follow with a cup of herbal tea.

Top up through the day with glasses of water with lime or fresh mint springs to refresh.

Exercise

Have you been slobbing out on the sofa all winter?  Time to get yourself down the gym or join a local aerobics class, so you can fix those wobbly bits and feel healthier and lighter in yourself.

Exfoliate

Not just your face, but your entire body.  Invest in some good body scrub and a natural loofah for all those hard to reach places and give yourself a thorough all-over body scrub.

Shedding off all that old, dead skin will give your skin a new flush of life, help to get rid of any little bumps and pimples on the backs of your arms and legs and have your skin feeling as smooth as a baby’s.

Wax

If you’ve been hiding your hairy legs underneath tights and trousers all winter, now’s the time to do something about it.

Waxing or using IPL therapy is a more efficient way of removing unwanted hair than shaving or hair removal creams and can last up to six weeks.

Tan

Pale and pasty legs just don’t work with tea dresses and short skirts, so treat yourself to either a spray tan or a cream tan, that way, when you get those pins out you won’t blind people with their whiteness!

Have a facial

Treating yourself to a facial may feel like an unnecessary luxury, but your skin will definitely thank you for it.  Whether you have dry skin or are prone to breakouts, a professional facial will get to the heart of your skin trouble and help to fix it and leave you glowing.
